My camera enables me to make impact.
My name is Kimberley (24). I'm a recent graduate of Columbia University, originally from the Netherlands and Uganda. Ever since I was young, I enjoyed being both in front of and behind of a camera. I later became drawn to professional photography and videography because I love to capture memories authentically. Moreover, I feel energized when I can offer someone a photo or video that makes them feel proud of themselves or their business.
My photography and videography style in three words:
creative, confident, and candid
creative, confident, and candid
At Columbia University, I completed a master's in Global Thought, an interdisciplinary program that allows students to explore the complexities of our interconnected world and create their own curriculum. I won best slide and best overall presentation during the Columbia GSAS SynThesis competition. I effectively communicated my academic research to a general audience within 3 minutes. My research was on women microentrepreneurs in Ghana. Alongside my master's, I was the social media and communications intern at NGO CSW/NY, the largest convenor of feminist and women's rights organizations in the world.

Before attending Columbia University, I was the president of the Dutch National Youth Council. I represented the interests of youth in the Netherlands in national media and spoke in front of audiences of up to 3,000 individuals. I am combining my skills in storytelling, strategy development, social awareness to launch an international public relations agency for cause-driven individuals and organizations. I recently started content creation as a form of creative storytelling. I want to use my platform to raise awareness about societal issues and to bring people along on my journey of starting a social enterprise.
